KMG Slide Controller Amperage Reading

I noticed that 3 out of 4 slide controllers are flashing the correct motor amperage, but my heaviest slide - passenger side kitchen slide - is flashing 21 and then 35. The controller states that a number of 0-30 is the amp reading...Any ideas??? Did I have a spike of some sort? Hoping this isn't a sign of issues to come...

And thanks to all on this forum. I have asked A LOT of questions and always appreciate the group's knowledge and willingness to help.

That is normal.

When idle they flash the “model number” of the controller, so to speak. I have one that flashes 11 and the other three flash 21 - 35. This is the trip amperage setting. The 11 is fixed at 11 amps. The 21 - 35 can be programmed between 21 and 35 and is programmed by default to 34 amps. It may be that they are shipped to Newmar set at 34 amps and then programmed as needed depending on the installation. At least that is how I understand it. I tried to find out more information on these controllers but haven’t come up with too much.

To add to the above, to see the actual amperage that the slide out motor is using, you have to look at the display while the slide is in motion. When the slide hits the stops, the amperage will spike. Once the spike reaches the set limit, the controller will shut off the motor.

Appreciate it. I have 2 flashing 11, 1 flashing 15 (with a sticker on it that says 15) and then the one flashing 21 & 35.

Great info D20. I actually emailed Klauber last night and already got a response:

Hello Dan,
When the controller is flashing a number, that is the amp limit setting for end of travel. When the number is solid, it is showing the amps the motor is pulling when in operation. When the controller flashes between 21 and 35, that is a special setting for some of the “big” flush floor slides. End of travel in both directions is set to 21 amp limit. But the controller will allow up to 35 amps for the first half of the retract direction to give the slide time to come up the ramp.
