KMG Slide Controller Ground Wires

Can anyone explain the "SW GND" versus the "GND" wires on the controller? I was thinking one could be a Slide Wall ground? If so, what does that go to? My slide motor only has 2 wires, and those go the motor in and motor out terminals.

Thanks.

Slide Switch Wiring

The "GND" wire should run from the chassis ground to the controller. M&M RV (provides service for intellitec products) recommends replacing the existing ground with a new, dedicated ground wire running directly from the negative post of the inverter to the slide controller.

The "SW GND" wire runs from the momentary operation switch to the controller. It is a negative ground wire, but completes the switch circuit to operate the slide. The slide out is activated when the ground is completed via the switch to close the circuit and initiate the slide moving out or returning in as appropriate.

Hope this helps...

John

That’s probably a switch ground. The motors have positive and negative connections at them. The polarity is switched at the motor for different directions. The motors are “dumb” and don’t know what or how they are connected to something. That is why they must be “controlled” by the controller.
