these motors are window lift motors. You shoud be able to match it with a motor at NAPA or Advance.

I needed a motor on my kwikee 3 step. I called AM Equipment at 541-327-1546 the guy knew just what I needed sent it to me at a cost of I think around $28.00. The number on mine was 214-1001.

Hope this helps

The 9551 number on the orange sticker that say's High Torque that sticker was put on by Kwikee it did not come with the power window motor. You motor is either the one that fits the ford witch I was told it is called a UT motor or you have a siemens power window motor. That sticker was used on both motors till they changed to the AM Equipment brand. Siemens motor has plastic on some of it UT motor is all metal.

Thanks to everyone who posted a thread on my step motor search. I did get the one from napa Part # bk655-1395. Voila it works great & guarenteed for life. $58.68. Sure beat $355.00. Thanks Big Piggy

Thumbs up Oldie but a goodie

This thread is an older solution to a problem I just experienced. My motor in my 2004 Kwikee motorized step is failing with reduced power and not retracting the step assembly fully closed. Looking at a full replacement was over a $1,000 but then I found this blog and have ordered from NAPA a replacement motor for $56.25!
What a savings. I had to join to express my gratitude to all, even if it was many years ago.

Badowsdl: Thank you for the post. I have a 3 step Kwikee Part # 902508007 that is failing. I am looking for a motor for it. Was your step the same part #, and if so, what was the part number you used for NAPA? I ordered a Lippert/AM 369506 motor and it was close, but did not quite fit. The end of the gear shaft was slightly larger than the hole in the mounting plate, and I would need to drill that out, and probably shim up the motor some to get that to fit. I would prefer to get an exact fit. If yours was an exact fit (and the same Kwikee part # for the step as I have) I would sure like to know how to get it from NAPA.
Thanks a lot.

Also would like to know if original motor gear was plastic and if replacement NAPA is plastic or metal. Thanks

Not sure if the Lippert is the same as my Coach Step brand steps, but mine took a window motor for a Ford Crown Vic. The only thing I had to do was to drill the three mounting holes out to the next size and change the wiring connectors. I bought mine from AutoZone for about $35. It has a metal gear as did the original.

Thanks for responding. I still have some questions.
1. Where did you find a connector pigtail for the new motor? Did it come from AM?
2. The AM 214-1001 motor that I ordered (and have) is a 14 Newton meter motor. The Amazon motor that Turferrw recommends is only a 10 Nm motor. Is the 10Nm motor powerful enough to lift the heavy three step Series 25 Part # 902508007?
3. Will the old controller in the Series 25 Part # 902508007 drive a 14Nm motor?

Any answers appreciated

Actually Ralphl, you may have answered one of my nagging issues with my 3 step Kwikee system. Although the steps using the Napa replaced motor, 655-1395 seem to function, they fail to fully retract by only a small amount. I cannot find the torque rating of the 655-1395 motor and assumed the controller was getting weak, cutting power before the steps hit their retracted position. After reading your last post, my guess is the motor is 10 (or less) Nm and just not strong enough.
Do you have any additional data on your install of the AM 214-1001 motor? Did you modify the mounts? Does the existing controller drive the AM 214-1001 motor to full retraction?
