L-Sofa or regular sofa?

We are getting ready to order a Bay Star 3401. It has a 84" L-Shape sofa or you can exchange that for a regular straight sofa. The only L sofa we have seen was in a Canyon Star, which I guess would be similar. It seemed a bit hard to me, but my wife thought it was fine. We do not plan on using either for extra sleeping as we don't plan on having guests, so it doesn't matter to us if it is jack knife (l-Shape) or hide a bed.
We (and our dogs) are use to a sectional sofa at home, so we are leaning towards that but just not sure. If the L part is pushed in, it seems you are losing 1/3 of the sofa.

any pros or cons to either option would be appreciated.

We are so close to finally nailing this down.

At this point you know the coach you want. I would look at how you enjoy your evenings and rainy days and select a couch based on that. If you like to spread out get the L shaped one if not maybe opt for recliners or the straight couch. JMTCW

This is just my very personal opinion. I don't like the L-shaped couches as they make the inside look more crowded. I like the wide open area when the slides are extended. The L-shaped couch intrudes too far into that space. I'm also not sure if they won't block passage when slides are retracted.

For me, it would depend on where the television is located. In my coach, the only way I can get a straight-on view of a television is with an L. Otherwise, I have to crane my neck and that gets old after awhile.

Unsure if the "L" sofa you are considering is same as we have in our Ventana ?, but a couple of observations...
When folded out into the bed configuration, absolutely useless ! Only fit for a small kid - definitely not adult sized. Also lumpy as all getout.
For TV viewing. if TV is on opposite wall, or overhead then pretty good.
Sofa itself is a little on the hard side.

We have the 3401 with the L sofa. We do enjoy it. With the two of us we sometimes do not extend the L. We have used it for grandkids overnites, but it I tight for adults. It is another step in setting up and getting ready to move. We would get it again.

We have the L-shaped couch and love it. The thing is you have the best of both worlds. If you want it extended for watching TV you pull it out, and it only takes seconds to do so. If you want extra room you push it in. I'm not sure what others are talking about but whether in/out it does not affect the overall length of the couch. Also it does not affect the room you have when the slide are retracted as you just leave it pushed in anyway while traveling. As far as the fold out bed, we have slept two adults on it. It all depends on what mattress you order with it. There are two options, one is the blow up one that comes with it's own pump and automatically inflates/deflates, and the other is the standard mattress. We love it for watch TV, or relaxing in front of the fireplace reading. When extended it really gives you a lot more room to stretch out and comfortably fits two people.

We like the size of the L, our only dislike is the corner (where both sections meet) section is very hard making it not so comfortable to lay on. Find one and try it

If either of you snore, opt for a full sofa.

We just got rid of the L shaped sofa in our Canyon Star. It was uncomfortable either for sitting or sleeping. The seating area in the short "L" section is a joke. In order for it to slide in for travel, the back actually tilts forward slightly making it almost impossible to sit in comfortably. Although the sofa/bed is well constructed (we had to completely strip it down to the bare frame to get it out the door) the material used to cover it is cheap and in only two years use it became brittle and split open on one of the seat backs.

We have a Lambright dual recliner love seat on order to replace it. This will be covered in fabric, which we prefer to the plastic stuff.

Pulled the L-sofa from our 2016 Bounder as it was hard as a park bench, and the slide mechanism kept jamming when trying to pull it out. Opted instead for an Ashley wall-hugging loveseat with power foot and head rests. Enough space leftover for a nice end table with built-in USB/AC sockets. Couldn't be happier.

We had the L shaped couch in our Tiffin Allegro 31SA. Although we liked the cozy feel that the couch gave the interior, we found it VERY uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time.
When we moved up to a larger coach, we went to a duel recliner configuration, which proved more suitable for us. Pluses and Minuses. Personal choice.

The DW loves it and I hate it so we are keeping it.
