Ladder and Slinky Storage

After searching modifications, I found Redbaron73's fence post modification from May of 2013. He attached two 5 x 5 in x 8 ft fence posts to the bottom of his coach using stainless steel worm gear hose clamps. I was interested in applying this mod to our 2015 DS 4018 but want to know how the stainless steel worm gear attachment held up over time. Does anyone remember further discussions about this after the passing of time and miles?

I did the same thing back in 2013 and not had any issues with the ss clamps.

PO of my MH put a short section of fence post fore/aft under the driver side rear compartment. It works great for second slinky. Its just bolted w a few angle brackets.

I put a side to side just in front of rear wheels for ladder storage.
After cutting and fitting caps I blocked it up... cinched up & held temporarily w large black cable ties. To better ensure it was secure I added small dia wire cable and cable clamps. Tough to manage cable & clamps and hold it in place. Cable ties were very helpful.

My Newmar has a slinky holder built into the rear fender. It's a PVC tube with a "gas door" lid on it. Problem is - only the hose, the connection ends don't fit...the tube is too small diameter? What am I missing here...

That might be great if I want to put ends on the hose every time I want to use, but that doesn't seem to practical.

I started out planning to use redbaron’s method, but then tried a different system. FYI... even as I write this there is a current thread in this Newmar section titled “Sewer Hose Holder” which describes several alternate methods of installing these vinyl post covers.

That might be great if I want to put ends on the hose every time I want to use, but that doesn't seem to practical.

I use a slink w the claw type connector on one end to hook up w the 90* elbow on my tank discharge and the push together connector on the other.
The push connector will fit in the tube and claw remains just inside the doors you don't lose the hose into the tube.

I use the push connector to either attach the threaded 90* sewer adapter or to connect my second hose when req'd.
