Laminate Floor Damage from Slide Out

I searched the Newmar owner's forum on this topic but didn't get any results thus the reason for a new post. The "new to the wife and me" 2016 Newmar Ventana LE 4037 that we purchased two months ago (March 2019) has "roller marks / scratches" on the laminate flooring from the big, full wall slide-out on the driver side of the coach. The "roller marks" are most pronounced behind the captain's chair with some roller marks at the middle roller. There are no roller marks at the third (rear) roller.

Has anyone with laminate flooring experienced roller marks/scratches from their full wall slide-out? If "yes", can the roller marks be removed / made less noticeable? What can be done to stop the roller marks from getting worse?

I guess we were so excited to find a great condition 2016 Ventana LE for a great price that we didn't notice the roller marks. Your thoughts and guidance as always are very much appreciated!

Mike this has always been an issue somewhat. Most of the floor surface damage occurs from retracting the slide with dirt or grit on the floor and from the slide moving slightly as it goes down the road.

Newmar made guard that fit beneath the rollers, but they were not ideal in my opinion. I have always used non-skid rubber place mats under each wheel's track. It is only the large slid you need to be concerned with as the track of the apposing slide does not protrude beyond your view.

For the place mat solution, you will need to look and mark the track of each roller, I believe it is about 5 of them. Place them and watch they do not slide while you are retracting. If so just step on it briefly until it grabs.

Hope this helps.

Newmar is aware of the tile floor damage from the slides. One owner said they are installing wider rollers on the slides to fix the issue. Suggest you call Newmar Customer Care, and see if they will help you in this problem, suspect their is going to be some customer support as you are not the only one having this issue.

He has laminate, not tile.
