Laminate/Vinyl Flooring

I have a 2003 Kountry Star. I would like to replace the old original carpet with either laminate or vinyl plank flooring. The kitchen area has laminate wood flooring. The carpet meshes with it so it is about the same height as the carpet.
The slide comes in over the carpet on 4 rollers about 10-12 inches long. Wondering if the slide will mark the plank floor. I've seen the Lippert carpet/floor protectors but not sure if I would need them or if they would work.
Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has done this or has laminate/vinyl flooring in their RV.

Dan

On our 2019 Bay Star, the rollers haven’t marked our vinyl floor when the room moves in or out. The rollers have left marks on the floor from where the slide sits when we travel and we now use something similar to the Lippert product to minimize future damage.

Thank you for your reply. What product do you use to protect the floor when you travel?

I bought some of those flexible inexpensive cutting boards. The ones you can easily bend and pour your cut veggies into a pot. I then used some left over rubber shelf liner and some 3M adhesive spray and glued the shelf liner to the bottom of the cutting boards. Once the slide is almost to the end of its run I place them at the bottom of the rollers and run the slide up onto them. Our slide is about 15’ and we have 5 rollers.

We recently replaced our tile floors with vinyl planks. Our installer gave us planks that we place upside down and roll our slider over them. It seems to work fine. We store them in the sofa under the cushions. Easy peasy!
