Leak! Oasis heating module
I've got a thermal transfer fluid leak somewhere INSIDE my Oasis heating module (pictures below). This is the main heating unit NOT the distribution module. Anyone run into this before? If so what was the problem?

Hi Phil - You might want to post this on http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/forum.php Roger does mostly Aquahot but Randy from Oasis is there and this might be a common issue.

Below is a link to the ITR support website that has many resources including the service manual. I would remove the covers to get inside the unit in an attempt to locate the source of the leak. Hopefully, just a loose hose clamp.

Please keep us posted.

If you take the front cover off the unit, you should be able to see what might be going on. Also, check the hose clamp on the over flow hose in the top of the unit.

My Oasis had a leak also. I found the hose fitting on top was lose. The fitting was installed finger tight. Made a mess on top of my unit and in the inside.

My sight glass on the front of the unit would fog up and the system would require a small amount of boiler fluid to be added every week. We operated it this way until we were able to get home, which is 20 miles from the Newmar plant, where the Oasis unit was replaced at no charge by the company that makes the Oasis unit. This was after the warranty had expired. They said there was a leak somewhere inside the boiler unit itself.

I just got through replacing my Oasis unit because of a very similar leak
I kept loosing fluid out of the overflow jug in the engine compartment. Upon closer research I found fluid in the pan under the Oasis unit. Took everything apart , and the Oasis boiler had several pin holes along the weld
Had to replace the whole boiler unit ( for about $2700.00) and it's been working fine since
This may be a problem with Oasis units. Their welds don't seem to be inspected before the are put into the units

Leak! Oasis heating module
Found my leak. Here is a picture of it streaming out a pin hole below the pressure cap. Didn't notice before because the rubber boot covered the problem and the fluid was going down and into the boiler. Bummer. Hopefully my dealership can get a warrantee replacement quickly!

Hi - From what you saw was it a poorly done solder joint? Looks that way in the photo.

Maybe. Seems like that might be the case, but I don't think it's repairable. My guess is that it's gonna require a complete replacement of my oasis unit

What made you push the rubber boot down. And look for a leak there. Good insight.

There were a couple of dribbles on the top of the boot. Was just wiping them clean and felt a really warm stream in my hand!

Mount Comfort RV to the rescue! They got my coach right in and have already connected with Newmar and ITR. Will keep all posted on the outcome.
