LED add on lights.

Just ordered a few rolls of LED strip lights and was going to put them under the passenger side slide outs. Now the delima how to get power to them correctly. Currently I just drop the wires straight down and connect to splitter and place power adapter in peg board storage.
Has others done this and if so how do you get power to them with hidden wires.

Thanks,

I ran them under the chassis but the slide outs are on my to do list. However while at Newmar I Looked at a install that a guy did on his DS. On the passenger side the power connection was made under the sink and dropped down through a small hole drilled through the floor of the slide out. Drivers side was taped in to a wall outlet. Maybe this will give you a starting point.

I was going to drill through bottom of slide out, then my friend scared me and said the bottom looked vacuum bonded and drilling a hole through would weaken product. [emoji15]

I don't believe that Newmar uses any vacuum bonding in their construction process. To be sure a quick e mail to customer service will answer that question.

I don't own a Newmar yet, but I pulled power from my cargo lights for the slide lights.

And from the porch light for the strip I added under the door awning.

The led strips I use are 12 volt. I power 'em off the RV. but I can not tell you how to do it without drilling holes UNLESS you can close doors on the wires.

On our monaco, I just decided to run it on 110 and went through the expanding slide connector for the outside tv into the bay and tapped into the power behind the dvd player.

I just installed them on our LA. I ran wires into slide and picked up the led lights under kitchens cabinets and bed. they are the courtesy lights. So when i hit the courtesy light button the leds under the bed and kitchen cabinets as well as under slide lights come on.

Thanks everyone for the responses! How did you run power wire for over door awning? Two more questions how did you run power wire to your courtesy lights? Just pushed wire through rubber gasket/seal flapper? I thought about tapping into storage bay lights, but no power when door is shut. I know I am asking for more detail but truly do appreciate all of ya'lls input!

I did mine under the coach,,, wired into the step lights, in the front wheel well. Used 2 face tape and a dab of silicone here and there to ensure it stayed. Works great.

Bought a 16' string on amazon for less than $10.

Campin Cajun. When you turn your cargo lights on you have a constant power source? I will look at this on mine today, just not sure how I can get wire through slide and down into cargo bay. On your door awning you tapped into porch light, how did you hide wire?
