LED vs LCD for front TV

Gonig to replace the front TV in our '04 Dutch Star. We are leaning toward an LED set. Will a LED take the vibration or would a LCD be more durable?

Thanks

Both TV's are LCD TV's. The difference is that the older TV's used florescent light as the back light and the news use LED's. The reports so far are all good. We just updated our front TV to a 32" which we could flush mount due to the reduced weight and thickness. My personal opinion would be LED/LCD.

I have two LCD TV's I put in about 3 years ago.

One is a Sony 32" and #2 is a 26" Westinghouse, front loading DVD player.

Both are doing great, no problems at all. I strongly recommend the Winegard Travler antenna for feeding your new TV's an HD signal- It's an outstanding piece of equipment. If you are happy with the limited HD "over the air signals" that's fine too.

I've noticed that the new LCD/LED's are about a third more in price.

Personal choice I guess, please let us know what you decide on-

Good luck,

I have a LED/LCD and have had no problems with it. Looks good, is very thin and light weight.

From what I understand, the LCD's illuminated by LED's are supposedly more energy efficient using less wattage. We have a 32" Samsung LCD in our coach with fluorescent screen lighting and it's held up just fine traveling over many rough roads.

Good luck with your replacement....

I've run into several articles that indicate that the LED back lights are the better way to go. After coping to file the post on the overhead cabneit remodel, I'm giving it consideration if we don't decide to trade this winter.

About to finish up putting a 32" Samsung LED unit into our 2002 DSDP so give me 5-6 years and 30-40,000 miles to find out!

Twenty thousand miles on our 37" LED-works great. Picture much better than our four LCDs.

Either one will take the vibration, LED sets have a slightly better picture and use a little less energy.

I think a few folks said on another post that the LED ones were fragile. That has me a little leary of them. Does anyone have any knowledge about them being fragile, or do you think that maybe some people accidently damaged them?

I do know if you drop them the screen can get scratched!! Did it to the first one and bought another one.
The TV was sitting on the passenger seat, screen against the seat so I wouldn't damage it. I hit it with my elbow and it fell to the floor and OUT THE DOOR. The only (ONLY!) damage was a 1/8" wide by 1/2" scratch on the screen. I'm still using it in my "man cave" and it works just fine. If it hadn't hit a board directly on the screen it would have suffered no damage.
BTW, this is a 32" Samsung LED 4005.
If it survived the fall and still works I'd guess I wouldn't worry about mounting it in a MH!!

Originally I purchased a 32" that I was going to install in the front after removing the CRT but then seeing how much slimmer the LED/LCD is I'm waiting for the one I want to go on sale. I would be able to flush mount it to the door I had made that now covers the existing TV opening. My observation is that it will be a better fit and finish look for the change. JMHO though.

Not only do the LED's use less power, they throw off much less heat!
