This was a great review...I couldn't find it earlier. I'm getting this for Gil for Christmas. For a $50 difference, is it worth getting the 40, instead of the 30? What's the difference.
When using any of these GPS's, be sure to put in the correct name of the campground, or you may do some wandering

PS Roger..I have yet to buy anything, that didn't come down in price after I bought it. It's the nature of it.

The 40 says street names I believe, its good if you can't read english .
Either one will make him happy just remember when she says turn turrrn. Or you may wind up on long dirt roads.

I recently purchased the Garmin C330 and like it very much. So much easier to use than my old Garmin. Wife was not happy about it until she used it. Nows she's happy and thats important.

I bought another unit for one of my daughters that is in sales and drives around to different customers all the time. She really like it too.

I use Price Grabber to find the best prices. It will show many sites where you can make the purchase and allows comparing of prices at all the sites. Bought my C330 from buydig.com for #304.00. Bought my daughters from Tri-state for 298+shipping. Buydig.com had upped their price.

I would highly recommend the C330.

This topic has really educated me on the C330 and mine just arrived yesterday. It took all of about 5 minutes to learn how to operate. I also got the Garmin Dash Mount which is a must have.

I purchased from GPS Discount.com for $324. Got a free t-shirt too but it is about 2 sizes to large..

Thanks again.

I found the C-330 on line @ Erwincomp.com at $269.95 including tax and S&H. When I called them they assured me this was new and not rebuilt. I am planning to order this week.

As info. I found 43 on line sites liating this product from $258 to $974-the high price was from either Linens and Things or Bed, Bath and Beyond, which blew my mind. Wouldn't this be like going into an auto parts store and asking for fresh brocoli? I can't imagine poing to either L and T or B,B and B to check out the latest and greatest GPS systems.Ken.....stay safe out there.

I don't see why not...as long as there's a view of the sky.
I've used a C340 in my Hummer H3 affixed to the window with not the best "view" of the sky and it's been fine.

I placed my C330 on the right side of my dash, above my radio, so that I would have the best view of it and my wife could also easily get to it. This unit has a much more sensitive receiver than the older Garmin that I had.

You should not have a problem with it and will really love it.

Check out Amazon.com. In the search box at the top of the page type in Garmin C330. They have the C330 for $273.84. No tax and no shipping charge (if you are willing to wait a week) for most states. This is a new unit and they usually have the best price.

I have used the C330 for the last six months and can vouch for all the good things that have been said in this thread.
My windshield is too far from the cockpit to use the suction cup mounting and be able to see the screen clearly so I used the stick-on mounting base... works great.
Windshield suction cup works great in my Jeep Liberty.
Someone asked if this unit speaks street names; the answer is "no". The C350 does using computer generated voice software.
Two caveats:
1. Not all POI's are accurate. I have been directed more than once to a private residence when looking for a business (gas station, car wash, restaraunt, etc.).
2. Had another owner tell me after a year or so the internal battery will need replacing and is available only from Garmin for $75.00.

Wouldn't leave home without it.

Just got a e-mail from Garmin this week reminding me of new updates for my C-330.
When you register the product you will get them also.

I have had the Garmin 550 for about a year. Don't know how it compaires to the 330 but I wouldn't be without it. I have never had anything but prompt results with it.

You will not be disappointed with it.
