Limited range on the drivers seat on Baystar 3124
Because of the full slide, which I love, and the design behind of the drivers seat, you cannot slide the drivers seat back very far. The back of the seat hits the slide. Seat on my 2901 would go further back and within the slide when fully retracted. Is a fix on the way?

I have the same issue on the 3103. I wish there was a fix or work around.

One of my complaints as well--multi position power driver seat but because I am 6'3" and want the seat back as far as possible, the upper part (seat back) contacts the slideout in the driving mode. Makes long drives a little uncomfortable. I compensate by stopping every 2 hours to stretch my legs.

I have actually thought about cutting the molding around the slide out where it hits the back of the driver's seat, and piano hinge it so that it can be moved out of the way while driving and still put back in place when the slide is out. I'm just not sure the couple inches I would gain is worth the effort it would require.

I wonder whether the people who design coaches ever drive them, or they would have noticed this. In any case, I've proposed a couple of different approaches to my dealer to see if anything can be done. For me, I don't like sitting so close to the steering column that I feel like I'm riding a horse. I'd like a little more freedom of movement for my legs if I can get it.

This is a good place to remind folks that your checklist (you have checklists, right?) should include making certain the driver's seat back is upright and the seat pulled forward BEFORE opening or closing the slide. You can easily tear up either the seat back or the slide moulding if you forget.

Maybe they should have had a checklist before they bought it to make sure they could fit in the drivers seat while driving. Just sayin.

In addition to checking to checking the NCC and individual wheel weights of the RV you may be interested in to see if you can really use the NCC, you need to measure the distance from the wall to the passenger side edge of the seat back and compare to the distance the slide extends to see if you can fit in the seat while driving.
Most RVs you look at have the slides out and the sales folks often seem reluctant to retract the slides for the potential buyer to see the usable-ness of the RV when on the road.

It's sad that coach builders build coaches that are not comfortable to drive.
However what's even "more sad", (and hard to understand), is the fact that people buy them.

I was plagued with this for 5 years with my first class A. I'm 6'4". It was one of the first things I looked for when it was replaced. Lots of room now. Designers must all be short!

We had the opposite problem on our 32' 2002 Georgetown. I fitted into the seat with no problem (I'm 5'10"). We didn't check driving position for DW when we bought it, but later found that her feet didn't touch the floor. She's almost a foot shorter than me. The steering column had no telescopic adjustment, and she couldn't get the wheel-to-pedal distance where she could drive the rig either.
Before we gave up the RV lifestyle, I was seriously considering going to a bus wrecking yard and getting a couple of Recaro driver's seats to replace the Flexsteels. I drove transit for a while, and those seats had so much adjustability, anyone could get comfortable.

What? You want engineers to use common sense when building something. Surely you jest.
