Living room TV using Bluetooth

My DW doesn't watch much TV and I'm wanting to bluetooth to a headset. My problem is the current set up on my TV runs thru a yamaha receiver (much like a sound bar) preventing me to use my Bluetooth set up. I think I've figured out a way using 2 a/b switches. I have direct TV and the hdmi cable from it goes to the yamaha. Then a hdmi goes from the yamaha thru the ceiling over to the TV. Am I correct in using the a/b switches to get a direct feed from the direct TV box to the TV then my Bluetooth connection on the TV will work? It will eliminate the TV thinking the yamaha is connected and the audio out on the TV will work the Bluetooth. Hope this is not confusing.

Your tv has Bluetooth, right? Isnít there a setting that allows the sound to go bothe to Bluetooth and tv speakers? Or does your attachment to a stereo/surround receiver negate that?

My TV setup at home goes through a receiver to the speakers. Yet, I use a bluetooth headset connected to the TV directly when I don't want to disturb anyone. ALl I have to do is turn the volume on the receiver down (or just mute it).

It negates that.
