Location of antenna booster
Have a 2013 C. S. 3856 and somehow the Winegard antenna got mangled. Ordered a replacement and it came with the wall plate for the booster. My owners manual says the original is a unit with the booster but I can't find the wall plate any where in the coach. Newmar was not any help nor was Winegard.
Any idea where I might look to find it??
Thanks

I don’t know about the Canyon Star, but in my Ventana the wall plate for the antenna booster is low on the wall behind the passenger’s side front seat. It has a 12V power receptacle and a little button with a green light that illuminates when the booster is activated. The only other place I’d think to look would be in the cabinets above the front seats.

When you get your TV signal from the antenna, you turn your booster "ON". When you get your TV signal from a cable hookup, you turn the booster "OFF". It's normally the unit with a little green light.
We want to hear more about the mangled antenna. I watched a family leave the campground a few years ago that had a mangled antenna when they got home.

alank, in 15 years of RVing we have used the antenna very seldom. Two years ago I had to put it up. When we went to leave I lowered it back down. Pulled into an old gas station with a low ceiling and bang! When we were leaving the RV park I forgot to look up during me walk around because we so seldom raise the antenna!
A cheap bottle of wine and I've got a few more stories--- as we all do.

Pretty typical story. When we had that type of antenna, I hung a flag on the inside when it was up, and it saved me. It was the best antenna for reception we ever had.
This past Christmas while fueling up at Sams, a guy on the other side of the pumps pulled out. He had a 5th wheel with bicycles hanging off the rear hitch. As he pulled out, he cut it a little short and the tail swing caused the tail bicycle to hit the big steel pipes that are located at the end of the pump island. I'll bet he's scratching his dead about the bent wheel on the bicycle.
A couple years ago, I forgot to air up the coach when I backed out into the street. The low position caused the hitch to hit the street and knocked the tow bars down out of their stowed position where they drug across the street. It wasn't so bad until the rear end of the coach went over the curb on the opposite side of the street. I heard something, and knew it couldn't be good. The Blue Ox tow bar didn't survive that one.
