Locking drawer slides?

I have a huge pet peeve about the drawers. I detest those oem locks on the drawers. Seems a constant chase fixing, adjusting, replacing. Has anyone found a drawer slide solution or some other hack? Thanks!

The drawer slides on my 2015 have performed flawlessly. Zero issues. What issues are you having?

Not the slides, the latches that lock the drawers while traveling.

I have a broken lock on a kitchen drawer (actually the piece of wood to which back of the lock is screwed under the counter) and have been looking into what can I do to replace the whole thing. I noticed on the 2023 launch videos that the they are coming with soft close drawers. Home Depot lists soft close slide replacements for about $20 a pair which might work but do they have enough "close" to drawers closed while traveling. I am not sure what Newmar is using in the new coaches.

You need to clarify what you're talking about. When you say drawer slides, it sounds like you're referring to the metal slides in the bay. Are you talking about the latches on the wooden interior drawers? They don't have locking drawer slides, just locks.

If you're talking about the latches, they work well, but you need to understand something about them.

They have a spring-loaded latch. If you accidentally push that latch in, then you'll break lock when you close the drawer. The latch can easily be pushed in when doing things like putting silverware away or packing a clothing drawer. Often, when the drawer doesn't close easily, (being blocked by the latch) people push the drawer in harder and break the latch.

In the photo below, there is an arrow pointing to the spring-loaded portion of the drawer latch. If that gets pushed in accidentally, the drawer won't close. You need a small screwdriver or even a butter knife to pull the latch back out.

Once adjusted, they should never change as the drawers don't move around a lot.

Spares

They are plastic and they break. I carry spares and fix on the fly. Some of them have strong springs. It just makes them a little harder to pull the draw out.

Bulldog catches are great. It takes a little time getting used to how hard you have to pull to open the drawers, but not likely to open while travelling.

We have not ever had a drawer open when traveling, I guess we have been fortunate. I have had a cupboard door open but once it does that to me one time I use a bungee to keep it closed, same with the bedroom clothes closet.

I'm with those that say they've had few problems. The latches do come with different pull resistance. Possibly you need some stronger latches.
They are a bit difficult to get adjusted properly. I have my own procedure and in some cases I have reset the components on the drawer front or frame. Proper alignment makes a difference and factory installers don't seem to be very particular.

I have the latches that Dutch Star Don showed a picture of on all the interior cabinet drawers, and they work very well for me. They are even on my refrigerator and freezer door. I have had to replace one latch in five years. No drawers have come open while traveling.
ScottnJulie, are these the latches you are questioning?
Thanks,

Also the latches come in diffrent latch release rating. Like 2, 4, 8 lbs, which is how much force it take for it to relise. But are the same size. We had a couple of drawers that open every once in awhile while traveling. I increased the lbs of the latch. Problem solve.

Here's an alternative and a video showing how to install. The tightness of the snap lock can be adjusted
