In Branson today I met an '07 Essex owner, Leorard Van Berkel. He put the cleanest locking set up on his engine compartment I have seen. It required drilling and sloting a small section on the bottom of the door flange (not seen when closed) and installing a screw mounted channel on the lower frame portion beside the mechanical lock. It looks as good as it works, great!
I've Ask him to join our gruop and hope he will be the forum soon.
Branson. What a neat place. Two coaches down is Barbara Fairchild, the country singer. Pretty cool.

Peter,
I have always been surprised that Newmar makes no provision for locking our engine compartments. If you have a digital, try and take a picture of the Essex lock outfit and let us see it. We will be in line at Riverbend next year all wanting to have you upgrade us... kind of like the privleged few who had their mudflaps fixed onsite. I may attempt to do mine sometime now that you have given us an explanation.

Granted it's no "locking" setup, but at least the LADB requires you to have knowledge of the location of the toggle switch.
Peter, I hope the campground passes muster as we'll have some 70 rigs there for our National in July.
Did Michelle treat you well?

My DSDP has a key locking latch on the engine compartment.
The higher lines do not?

Darn brand separation...you guys get ALL the stuff in those DSDP's!
Personally I'll opt OUT of the removeable dorr awning option!

Since your LADB is lacking in a few areas, I'll appraise it when you arrive and consider swapping rigs with you.
You'll probably have to throw some money my way to make the deal though. Bring cash.

I did not get a picture of the lock and they left early this morning. Hopefully he will join the group and we can get him to post them.
Bob, I don't know if it was Michelle or not that checked me in, but they were very nice. The park is fairly nice, not as elaborate as Outdoor Resorts on Table Rock Lake, but the location isn't 40 miles out of town, it's handy.

Peter, that was one of the reasons we picked ABC, knowing it was certainly not an exquisite resort...

The park is just about half full only, perhaps as it is a weekday and not real warm. Temperature today might make 60.
