Looking at 2017 Dutchstar, any problem areas?

Hello Newmar Owners,

Considering a 4369 model and found one being sold by owner. Its on the Spartan chassis with about 30K miles. Any specific problem areas I should look at?
Thanks, Don

Likely, you should get a professional inspection of the rig, to rule out any problem areas.

The 2017 model year was probably the first year many of the DS issues were resolved. They had a problem with undersized front axles and a bigger issue with FW slide performance. The STAR foundation was implemented, increasing the structure strength and solving some slide sag and flooring issues.

I have a 2017 DS. Have had the typical small problems associated with this complex piece of equipment. The biggest potential problem in my opinion is the possible engine derate from the DEF sensors failure. Certainly doesn’t happen to a large percentage but the Spartan chassis has certainly had its share of DEF sensor failures.
