I am planning to do a computer desk/dinette this spring and have talked to several folks near the factory. One fellow, gene, bought Irv Kauffmans business and seems a little green but can really tell. the other one has been talked about in this forum several years ago it is Carlye Lehman and he has a shop called focal wood. I am wondering if he still is producing stuff as good as a couple of years ago when he was praised on the forum.

One other question. Gene seems to feel that the flip down table design must have the factory steel reinforcing plate in the wall to make the install sturdy. Carlye did not mention that but willingly quoted on the flip down design.

We have a 1999 38 ft DSDP and will be taking a year long trip this year so we are trying to provide for storage and eating and this seems to be a very worth while thing to do. I appreciate anyones thoughts on the cabinet makers as well as alternate designs for that sort of cabinet and table.

Carlyle has some of my money and I'm 100% satisfied with his work and I've not heard anything bad about his work.

The last I heard, Irv was still working with/training the fellow he sold his business to.

I had Irv Kaufman and Gene make new treatments for all my windows and a new headboard for the bed this past summer. The wife and I were very happy with the work they performed.

I also saw work they performed on other coaches at Camp Newmar. I would not thing twice about going back for other work.
