I am looking to rearrange the entertainment cabinet above the drivers seat of a 2015 DS. The cabinet contains all the video equipment and the Sat receiver. It gets very hot in the summer months and seems very crowded. I think others have made changes and would love get ideas and maybe pictures of previous modifications.

When parked in FL for the "Winter", I use an old ATT phone plug in transformer ( 120 AC to about 12 VDC ) and connect it to a 3", 24VDC muffin fan from a computer. This way the fan runs relatively slow with very low noise and keeps the electronic gadgets from overheating.
Things like that, I find in my collections in the garage or the flee market.

I've made a few small changes since, like replace the fans and now use an 8 strip plug.

On mine, I also have the satellite controller (small box 1.5" x 6" x 6"). I made a "U" shaped bracket and screwed it to the ceiling to make more room. I also like to glue 1" rubber feet to the underside of the DirecTV box which is one of the big causes of heat. Raising it an inch in the air allows it to cool better, since it cools from the underside.

I've tried the muffin fans in my other coach and they just didn't move enough air. It may sound tacky, but on those trips where I'm getting a lot of front cap heat and high outside temperatures, I use a 110 volt fan with a large clip. I just clip it to the open door. It moves a LOT of air and really keeps the components cooler.

The doors on the electronics cabinet on our coach originally had a "glass" insert. I removed the glass and replaced with 1/4" mesh painted black. The mesh is like hardware cloth abvailable at Home Depot
