Loose bolts on slide motor.

A friend called me couple days ago and told me he found a bolt in one of the storage bins on his 2008 DSDP.. looked around and found the bolt was one of four in the flange that holds the big living room slide (driver side) motor on. One bolt was missing and the other three were loose.. I checked mine today and found all four bolts loose and one out far enough it was bent and threads stripped .I'll get a new bolt tomorrow but will make frequent checks on them from now on.

I have a 2015 DS, which is undoubtedly different from yours, but where should a person look for this FWS motor?

The coaches he is talking about don't have full wall slides.

But every slide has a motor with gear box.

Full wall slide has 2, one in the battery compartment and the other in the power cord bay.

The bolts on ours worked loose causing the mounts on the slide motor to break, requiring a new slide motor. Remove each bolt one at a time and use some red thread lock on the bolts and tighten the bolts. This will resolve the problem.

I would HIGHLY recommend "BLUE" thread lock NOT "RED" thread lock... ! Red is permanent... You might need to change that motor at some time in the future...

I just had my slides checked and my pax side bedroom slide motor mounts were loose. I'm guessing that perhaps this is something to put on an annual "spring cleaning/check out" list.

Slightly off topic but...

For those of us with LP tanks it would be a good idea to double check your slide hardware at least annually there. Last year I had to have the front driver side hardware replaced due to corrosion. Remember that bay is open to the elements and thus the hardware is more subject to rusting.
