Jacks, jack mountings, suspension (as in, something was bound and let loose), etc would be where i would look..

Final report . . . for now. Haven't found anything loose except one of the gas struts under the bed. Can't believe the strut may have made all that noise.

Am I to assume that while you were looking under the bed you didn't find a stowaway maybe making a loud noise wanting out? Just kidding, just kidding.

This just may be one of those thing in life you will never explain. At least no one has been hurt. Good luck with the hunt.

Midniteoyl, looks like you win the prize! A strut strong enough to hold up the bed could make such a bang if the screws let loose and the strut extended. Good thing they were in the kitchen and not in bed at the time. (Insert your own joke about beds and banging here.)

This is the second bed strut that has come loose for us. Once in each motorhome. Gotta talk to hubby about this.
