Just got back to the warm weather(first time with AC on in 3 months) and ran into the good ole Florida "Love Bugs"-actually they were waiting for us in Mississippi. Worst(by far) bugs of the entire trip. Sure is a lot harder to get them off the Diamond Shield(not conviced it is worthwhile)than it was Gelcoat on the old coach.

Mix in an ounce of Fabuloso with 10 ounces of water, and spray it on the affected area: then wipe it off with a scrunge.

Try straight Prestone's Bug Removal Windshield Washer Fluid with a microfiber cloth. WalMart has it.
Obviously the faster you get at them the easier to get off.
We Floridians have another term for them, not printable on this forum!

We found that a "Bounce" clothes dryer sheet (I think any sheet will work if you dont have Bounce) wrapped around a wet bug sponge works quite well. I just removed some 4 days old bugs will little or no effort.
I have also layed the dryer sheet over a bug squeege with success for the one's higher up on the windshield.
This method leaves a greyish residue so hose off with water or I use a wet microfiber cloth and work in a few small areas. Good Luck with the Love Bugs!

I used the Prestone Bus stuff full strength in a bucket with my windshield scraper squeegie and they came right off....As most have said, the sooner the better!
I'd much rather have the Diamond Shield there to take the initial beating....
Come to think of it, I HOPE the coach STARTS in the morning!!

I polished all my Diamond Shield with Plexus before my trip and they come off pretty easily with just a bug sponge and water. We left Houston eastbound two weeks ago and got plastered with them. Cleaned them off every night as soon as the sun set.

Harm's got it right. I always clean of the whole front every night I travel and I have some soft boat pure polish I put on. It sure makes a difference. Heck, I still have some Alabama love bugs on my Grand Cherokee from Oct 2005 before education. lol

I found that a few coats of Protect All works for me. After I park and the sun goes down, I take bucket of cool water with a few drops of car wash soap and a microfiber cloth and clean the bugs off. Then i add another coat of Protect All.

I also use the bounce sheets. This leaves a milky film that requires a pretty good rinsing.
In my experience, it takes just as much effort removing bugs off the Diamond Shield film as it does off the paint surfaces of my regular vehicles, especially love bugs.
