Low water presure/ incorrect shower distribition

Last time out we had and have had since new problems with our shower having low water pressure and incorrect hot and cold water mix. Decided it was time to get the screw drivers out and check it out. On our 18 LA there are two screws to hold the face plate on and need a small allen wrench to get to adustment controls. After face plate is off there are 2 brass screws with one controling the hot and the other could. These are the mixer adjust to control the amount of hot water and cold water going shower head. Both are valves were almost closed which when turned 1/2 or so more opening couldn't believe the water flow. Turned each valve about a half a turn which set the water at the right temp for water faucet set the middle. Great water pressure with the right mix of hot and cold water.

Good detective work and a great fix with minimal effort.

Makes me wonder how many other folks just live with the "factory settings"?

Thanks Tom
Just an FYI, I found these wi-fi leak detectors and they work great. I removed the wood heat vent cover (two screws) under the bedroom mirror and you can see right under the shower. I placed one in there so if a leak occurs I find out before any damage is done. I have one under the kitchen drain that's been known to leak as well.

Many have the issue Tom has brought to light and don't even know it. It's like a shock absorber, you don't notice as they slowly get worse. Often, you think it's just poor pressure at the campground. I don't know if they're adjusted wrong at the factory or the nuts get loose and the screws turn in.

This is what that valve looks like. My next project is to check mine. If you do work on it, make sure you completely remove the screws and clean the tips, they can get a calcium build up on the end. You can probably screw the screws all the way down and dislodge any calcium, but it will probably go through your shower head.

With Don bring up Newmar coach owners not know if their shock absorbs need replacement here is method to check them. After traveling for more then 15 minutes use a infra-red temp sensor check the individual shock for temp reading against metal parts within about a foot away. The shock temp should be 15 to 20 degrees warmer then other metal compends around each shock. A good shocks transfers fluid up and down the shock when travling which after 15 or more minutes cause the shock to heat up. If the shock has fluid running down that to can answer your question about if you need shocks.
