Can anyone provide info on where the fuse may be for the LP gas detector? It is mounted a few inches above the floor in the hall, however appears to have no power. I have pulled it out, there is no in line fuse near the detector itself and I've been unable to locate one. A check of the wiring at the connection to the detector shows no power, so it would appear a fuse or the wire has come loose, but it runs up in the wall, so no way to trace where it goes.

Open to ideas or suggestions.

Thanks,

Is your 12V power switch on???
If so then the inside lights should work.
Now check the area where all the other 12V fuses are.Mine are in a cabinet in the bedroom.

Robbie, go to the outside front of coach, open hood, far upper right coil of wires, fuse holder 1 amp for lp detector is located there. Why you ask who knows had same problem techs didn't find, I found after miss on PDI.
I think theres a tag or stamping on wire or fuse holder, getting old forgetful sometimes. "007"

Found the fuse, checked it and it is good. Have to try to trace the wire now I guess. Thanks for the input, just wish it was a bad fuse.

ROB, you said you put on the switch correct, its located above your entrance door. I have pulled panel off looking for open power supply to detector. Two spade clips on switch may have a loose one, also check for 12v going into switch. The fuse was good but did you have 12v at fuse. I have had lp off wall also more spade clips for wiring. Let us know. "007"

Rob,

007 is on the right track. The switch is above the door labled "LP ON". Has nothing to do with turning the LP on, it turns the LP detector on. Make sure you have power to the coach (AC or DC) and turn it on. The green indicator light should then light up. I did what you are, the DW asked "what does this do" throws the switch, search over.

Yep, hit "use" (not store) and hear the switch up front "under the hood". I haven't checked the voltage at the fuse or at the 12v switch. I just had surgery on my arm a couple days ago so I'm kind of a "gimp" right now with what I can and can't do, but as soon as possible I'll check both those also. I'm very limited with knowledge about electrical stuff to begin with so I really appreciate the suggestions.

Take care.

Robbie

Did you get a CD with your owner documentation package? That CD has a lot of wonderful information, aside from the normal owners info. Use ADOBE Reader you can print wiring diagrams, plumbing diagrams, FUSE LOCATIONS, and a whole lot of other information specific to your coach. I have a 5er and the CD has data for every model 5er Newmar made on 2005. I printed the 12DC, 110AC, and plumbing diagrams as well as fuse location chart for my coach and keep it in my coach for future use.

BTW - know what you mean about being a "gimp". Just had surgery on my shoulder this past Friday. Kinda limits what one can do.

Rob, that switch you hear a relay up front is your house battery cut off switch, for winter storage, there is a sw. just for LP detector, maybe next to your step sw. "007"

Found the problem...the wire connector at the bottom of the small fuse block for the LP detector was loose. Tightened it onto the plug and works fine now. Thanks to all for the help. K-Star, unfortunately I don't think they started with the CD's until 05 model year, sure would be nice though.

Again thanks for the help.

Take care.
