Ma Snart

Here are the pics of your baby. It's parked it a tight spot and no one was allowed in.

You can take my word it's beautiful. I think you'll be happy for sure.

Let us know how it goes ... looks like a real beauty. Is that still snow I see on the ground? Hope you have the "mega-barn" all cleaned out so it will slip right in.

Keep us posted.

I spoke with my dealer today and asked to have the front heater changed. As far as I know he is suppose to pick it up next week although the heater change may delay that.

The barn is ready for the beast, but I have to finish putting the hitch on my new RAM pick up so I can tow it behind. I have done it before on my previous RAM and is not a simple job. Some assembly is required (and disassembly and fabrication). The guy on the floor doing the work is my friend, I am taking the picture (you have to know how to deligate - LOL!). I am trying to get him back to my garage to "help" with it again.

Ma --

Feels like we have all been through this process with you over the past several months -- and now the time is here!

PDR John is right -- it is stunning!!!

Sincerest congratulations!

We just arrived home from thirty days out with ours in Florida after factory delivery at Nappanee on 2/12. The Dutch Star is just a joy to drive and fabulous to live in, regardless of the outside weather. You are really going to love it. Keep us posted about your delivery and impressions.

Most of all ... Enjoy!

Deek

Hey Deek!

Good to hear from you again. Thanks for the kind words about our rig. Figured you have been busy enjoying your new Star. Glad to hear you are happy.

The coach is now at Midway (my dealer) being prepared for delivery. I finished putting the hitch parts on my new RAM pick up yesterday, so I am ready to go to Grand Rapids and pick up my new coach from the dealer. Man is it a pain in the butt to put the hitch on the new RAM 1500. My friend and I both have skinned up knuckles from drilling 1/2 inch holes in the truck frame.

Anyway it is done now so I can schedule the pick up date tomorrow. Will keep you all posted with pictures of the new rig once it is in hand.

Soon to be Happy, Happy, Happy....

All good, Ma! But it is now time for you to replace your Ventana picture with your new DS pic!

Can't wait to see all the pics as PDR John says. Seems like we have all been hanging around the birthing room for a while, doesn't it?

You're a much better man than I with the hook up for the toad. My experience has shown me that trial lawyers know absolutely nothing about engineering and for that reason, I was perfectly happy to have Newmar install our Air Force One at the time of delivery and not attempt to screw it up myself. It is clear that you know far more about this than I can manage, so I take my hat off to you for making the grade and getting the job done successfully. Skinned knuckles will heal quickly -- especially when you see that beautiful new Dutchie with your name on it waiting patiently for you to turn the key at Midway!

Cheers!

Deek

Thanks for the kind words on the coach.

The coach is being prepared by the dealer right now. They did the heater test during a cold night and the system held temp front to rear without the fan running constaint. Good news for Ma.

Why my system was OK and not PDR's or RedBaron73's escapes me. Maybe it is a problem with the 4347 layout vs my 4318. Do not know, but one issue checked off my list.

They found an issue with the power steering not working when first started on a cold morning. It took 10 to 15 min before it would work. They have taken the coach to the local Frieghtliner for repair.

Depending on the weather, I might go pick it up next week. If it rains all week liked forcasted, I will wait. I do not want to drive back in the rain and have to clean the thing right away.

I did get another toy this week (picture attached). I plan to load it into the back of my toad and take it exploring around the US.
