Macerator toilets

Have a 2020 Ventana 4037. Today I emptied black tank and rinsed out after emptying the tank. When I looked at the wall buttons in the bathrooms there was a red light that says “tank level” and the toilets won’t flush. Sometime ago I disconnected the yellow and orange connections in the power cord compartment so the tank sensors won’t prevent toilet from not flushing. So, could the issue today be something blocking the sensor, or a malfunction in wall switch? Is there another wire I could disconnect so would be able to flush the commodes. Thanks in advance.

I had a 2019 Ventana 4369. In a cargo bay on the driver's side there was a circuit board that clearly labels 75% and 100%. Pull the 100% wire as shown in the attached pic. This is the wire that shuts off the toilets when the black tank reaches 95%. Now it will be up to you to make sure you don't go over 100% as the red light will not come on. Don't be fooled on my rig that the yellow wire went to 100% and the red wire to the 75%. I wrapped the pulled wire with a tiny gear tie so that it would not inadvertently touch the circuit board. I never had the 'no flush' issue after that. My guess is the toilet switch or macerator pump is the issue.

I have pulled the 2 wires, 95% & 100%, and things were working fine. I also thought the wall switches but both toilet switches are showing the red "Tank Level". So I'm not sure if this would indicate that both switches were be bad at the same time. I will double check the wiring in the basement. I also plan to fill the black tank and drive around for a while. Unfortunately can't put Calvin or dawn in tank since can't flush the commodes. You mentioned macerator pump. Where would this be located? On each toilet?

When I had this issue in my 2014 DS, I pulled the pegboard wall and located the "FULL" sensor which is on top of the tank (photo attached).

I went to turn the sensor and had intended to remove and clean it. When I started to turn it, the red light went out and never had another issue. You could cut the wires and probably eliminate the red light.

So the sensor screws off? When putting back on is some type of sealant needed? Does the sensor just pull out from the tank? Sorry for all the questions but I was thinking to try to clean the sensor. If cutting the wires the light would go out and the toilets flush? Thanks for the advice.

Want to provide an update on the macerator toilets red Tank Level saga. I contacted Newmar and Dometic and they told me essentially the same thing. Either fill the tank and drive around or remove the sensor from the black tank. this is what I did and the lights went out and we could flush the toilets.

Both Newmar and Dometic provided a work around in the event the sensor was not the issue. There is a 4" x 4" black box for each toilet. If the yellow wire is cut that would change the red light to yellow. In the Ventana 4037 the mid bath black box is in the peg board basement. The black box for the full bath is behind the toilet and need to open emergency door to access.

Thank you all for your assistance. Now we can flush the toilets when we go to Florida in a few weeks.

You could also just add a remote toggle switch to the top of the tank red light sensor and if it happens again, just flip the toggle and open the circuit.

That’s a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
