Magna Shade sounds great from many of the posts I've read!
I've a question???:
Why are those shown on this thread very dark colors instead of heat reflective white?
Dark colors absorb heat; white repels.
What's Up!
We had dark brown on the outside front window and our window did not get hot. The secret is putting the shade on the outside before the heat gets to the window; not on the inside.
You have a clearer picture of the scenery with a dark color.
A dark color looks better on many paint jobs.
White can be glaring.

Plus, I've read on their site and here that the dark color provides more daytime privacy inside the coach.

Hi all, we have the Magne Shade for our front windshield and it does help up to point. We are in Texas and even with the shade there is a noticeable amount of solar heat that still makes it into our coach. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great product and I would purchase again. It’s just not going to completely eliminate the heat. The black material still absorbed and transferred some solar heating through the glass. Just my observation.
both are correct. if we so choose our two AC’s can keep the interior *cold* with the MagneShade. i did a lot of research on the various sunscreen mfgs before choosing MagneShade and came to the conclusion that they all will do the job. we chose MS for the ease of putting it up and taking it down.

They work very well to control the temp inside the coach. They are like the solar shades that we installed on our west facing windows when we lived in Texas.
Talked to a gentleman in NC, while we were getting ours installed, who was there for some follow up, he said that he had forgotten to take their door shade off, they were running down the highway at 65 mph when he realized it and shade stayed on window.
The side shade magnets are on the outside edge of the windows due to the double pane windows and not being able to transfer magnetic force through the gap btwn window panes. They are placed in the black colored area so they are not really seen.
Magne Shade said the magnets were the most expensive part of the process.
We bought the shades 5 plus years ago and they're still working good. As far as color - talk to Roger at Magne shade and he'll explain why dark colors work better. Ours are black - and like others here said - can see out of them in daytime. Also - Magne Shade supports their product. I needed extra magnets for ours and they were at our place in a couple of days.
I have them, I use them, they look nice on the coach. I agree there is still significant heat transferred to the windshield. I would not purchase them again.

We love ours. We have a split windshield with wipers that are vertical. The wipers with covers help hold the Magna Shade on. Magnets keep the shade tight. Nice to be able to see out during the day and no one can see you. At night it is just the opposite. They can see you! We pull the internal shade at night.
I purchased a similar product from RV TOY STORE. It is supposed to attach to the inside of the windshield with cheap suction cups. The suction cups do not work! They do not hold for beans. I called the company and asked for a discount as I have had to use Velcro to attach the shade to the inside of the coach. I have been promised twice that they are processing my request. No credit has made it to my credit card and its now 3 weeks since I initiated the request.
The shade works very well with the exception of the suction cups. I do not recommend doing business with RV TOY STORE!

We installed Magne Shades on the front window and front side windows of a Vista about 3 years ago. They held up well, even in the rain. We installed the first set ourselves and it went very well. Watch out for those magnets - they are VERY strong and will lock together if closer to each other than six inches. I had the blood blister to prove it. We just got a newer coach and ordered MagneShade for it. This time we let them install it at their shop in NC. We pulled in the night before. There was a 50 amp outlet for us. They installed the whole thing in a couple of hours the next morning. The two installers were most personable and described how much they travel to RV events, installing previously ordered shades. They said they install all day into evening every day of the event - constantly busy! They are easy for one person to put up with the telescoping pole they provide, and even easier to take down. A bag and wiper covers were included with ours at no extra charge. Bottom line - they really keep our coach cooler. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
