Major accident 2015 DS4369
I picked up my DS April 06, 2015 spent the week at Newmar and we was so happy.
With 1500 miles under our belt we left the Pocono's for Erie KAO. We had a great time we drove home May 18, 2015. On our way home while traveling east bound on I 80 passing 242 exit a car lost control going west bound and crossed the median and struck our bus heading drivers corner.
Myself, kids and grands all was ok but the young girl lost her life when she struck us. So sad God was with us.
We was going 50 Mph in a 65 zone with light rain. The bus protected us well. Not sure if it will be repaired or totaled.
I'm sure whatever happens it will be months before we resolve the repair or replacement.

OH, boy, that's NOT the way traveling is supposed to go, especially with a loss of life.
Glad everyone in your rig is OK but still not a good thing to have happen.

Wow, that's horrible (the loss of life). Be VERY glad you and yours are OK. Things can be repaired/replaced.

Driving on 15 today thru Utah. Speed limit posted is 80. I am surprised at the RV's cruising at 80 towing a toad, fifth wheel or travel trailer. Your accident 50, can't imagine one at 80. Common sense?

That is so tragic about that young girl - hopefully she is in a better place now. We had a nasty accident on New Year's Day this year - totaled our gasser, now waiting on our '15 Ventana for delivery next month. Everyone was ok in our accident, glad you guys are ok as well. I wish you the best in recovering and getting your insurance sorted out.

I wonder why she lost control:
Speed too fast
Texting/Talking/Facebooking
Other distraction
Blown tire
Debris in road
Overly tired

Sorry you had to experience a loss of life event. Glad to hear you and the family were uninjured. The coach, as you know, can be replaced.

Yan & Shanti,
So sorry that your new MH was damaged, but at least you are OK. No disrespect to the one who lost her life, but I truly believe distracted driving is a major issue today. We see more and more wrecks where both cars were traveling in the same direction, and Texting/Talking/Facebooking surely is an element involved.

So sorry to hear this! We were at Nappanee the same time that you were having warranty work done on our 2014 Baystar. We saw your coach and trailer there, beautiful! Glad that you and the family are ok, sad that the young girl lost her life. Hang in there!

Driving home yesterday from Pensacola Florida, I almost had three accidents. I averaged 62mph for 65 or 70 MPH zones, but other motorist were in a hurry trying to get home faster. This need to get somewhere faster, let alone doing something distracting like texting or using cell phone is getting worse in my opinion. It also rained yesterday and most people just continued their poor driving habits despite the need to slow down due to road conditions.
Sorry about your situation, however, the news was filled last night about the loss of life on our highways for Memorial Days Weekend. I will say this, as long as I drive a Coach I am not going to fall victim of getting in a hurry. My last comment is in no way stating that speeding or being in a hurry caused the accident you were in with the deceased.
