Maytag refer ice maker quit--- ideas ??

Ice maker on our Maytag French door refer ( model MFI2269VEM10) just quit... was working good for the past couple months we've been traveling. Water dispenser in door works fine. Switch is on, arm is down.... guessing there is a solenoid or relay somewhere that's not working. Any experience in troubleshooting this ? Maytag website is not very useful, just high level suggestions. Thanks !

Just for the info; icemakers in Fridges are the number 1 failure item.

I fixed mine by removing it (extra freezer space) and buying a $109 countertop ice maker.

X2 only mine didn't quit I just prefer a countertop because I can use water from the Berkey.

Had the same problem with my fridge in the house. The ice maker line was frozen. Unplugged the fridge for about 4 hours. Learned about that on U Tube. With all the doors remaining shut, nothing spoiled. When I plugged the fridge back in, all worked like it should. Just needed the ice maker line to thaw out.

There have been times when my ice maker quits….when I have my temp settings at maximum cold, backing them off a step allows whatever is freezing up to thaw, and ice making resumes……

When my ice maker stopped, I pulled the Ice Maker Module off and found that a couple of pins were burned. I cleaned them up and got another couple of months out of the unit. Ultimately, I had to replace the ice maker. Prices for this thing were all over the board. From $55 to $350. The one I got said it was OEM and cost around $135. Overall, it was a pretty easy job.

lasting repair

If you are good with a soldering iron you can solder jumpers around the burnt pins in the controll module. This has keep mine going for serveral years now.
