Maytag Refrigerator Power

We're camping without shore power next week. Does anyone know how much power is consumed by the Maytag residential refrigerator. It a double-door bottom-freezer model. (MFI2269VEM10)

All I can find is 115VAC/10A on the door sticker and the manual.

Is there an problem letting the fridge run overnight on the inverter?

We have never had a problem run for 12 hours, with out the genny running.

If planning to go for several days, I would set my auto gen start to run for 2 hours twice a day.

First in the morning, second at night.

We've dry camped a couple of times for 4 or 5 days. As PDR says, if you run the generator for a couple of hours morning and night, the batteries seem to do OK. You can set it to autostart based on voltage drop, or on timers if you have restricted hours of operation. The ( 2 ) of us also managed to go 5 days on full water / empty tanks, provided you conserve.

If you reserch your model, you can find the yellow, government, energy tag.

Yours says 536 kw per year. Divide that by 365 days a year, gives you 1460 watts a day. 1460 watts / 12 volts = 120 amp hours a day to run it for 24 hours.

With that info, if you have a 50 amp charger, you should run your generator 2 1/2 + hours a day, just to recharge your batteries, for refrige use.

None of this is exact, but just, ballpark numbers.

If you have 6 kids, holding the door open, all bets are off.

Enjoy
