MCD 15 channel remote

Has anyone tried changing the shade channel assignments? All shades and limits are working great but I don’t like the channel assignments. I am hoping this is not a big deal. I have called and emailed MCD. MCD(Nicole) said Calvin is the one to talk to but he has not called back in two days.
Any help would be great
thanks.

MCD Shade Changes

Yes, I've changed a channel on the MCD remote. The best thing I did was to change the operation of the door shade. Originally, hitting the ALL NIGHT + UP button raised all the shades in the coach and hitting the ALL NIGHT + Down button lowered all the coach shades.
Since we often walk the dogs just after sunset we would hit the PASS Window + up button to raise the shade on the door to get out to walk the dogs. That also raised the Pass window shade.
I kept the programming so the door shade would raise along with the window shade when I hit the ALL NIGHT + UP button, but not come down when I hit the ALL NIGHT + DOWN button.
When we return to the coach, I just hit the PASS WINDOW + DOWN to lower the door shade. This is also nice when we have company. This may not be a preference for many folks, but it works for us.
Anyway, I went on the MCD web page and downloaded their manual for the shades and controller. In that document there are instructions for pairing the shades to the remote. Good luck

Thanks for the response. I have the MCD instructions can have changed the entry door to stand only control similar to you. What I am trying to do is changes the channel assignments i.e. move entry door from channel 3 to channel 12. In the end I will group all day shades together in series and all night shades in series.

Night shades channels 1-6 and day shades 7-11. Entry door, PS window and driver window separately.

Got the response from MCD and I will have to return all shades to “factory reset” and start from scratch. Unfortunately there is no quick way to change the channels.

Trying to figure out how to do this. Did you remove the shade from the group?

Does anyone know how you remove a shade from an exiting group? Would like to break the door/passenger window group in to two. I see how you program them but do not know how to take a shade out of an exiting group. I have the 2017 controller that has the display at the top that shows which group/shade you are operating. 1-15.

Any instructions appreciated.

I have the 14 button MCD remote in our 2015 DS 4369. IIRC, you need to “clear“ all settings on the MCD shade unit/motor, then “re-link” it to desired button (as well as reset the stop points). Here are the instructions for mine.

We have an 18 DS with the 15 channel remote which could be different on your model depending on floor plan. Channel 15 was not assigned. I don't recall the exact procedure since I did this awhile ago but I followed MCD's instructions and removed the door from channel 4 "PS NT" and assigned the door to channel 15 as well as to channel 2, "All NT"

That is what I want to also do. I just can't find anywhere it says how to clear a shade from a group it is in.

I will look at the instructions clawsonbob has linked in his response. He has the older controller but I would think the shade portion clearing is the same - holding the learning button on the shade for a 1 beep cycle.

Thanks clawsonbob - will try those instructions even though you have previous version of the controller. Shade part of instruction should be the same hopefully.
