MCD night shade issue
My windshield night shade has been acting up. Sometimes when I push the rocker switch on the dash it immediately works. Other times I have to push the switch 5 or 6 times to get it to move. I thought it might be the switch so I ordered a new one from Newmar but no joy. I checked the wire connections and they are good. My next step was to try reprogramming the shade or ordering a new motor. Anyone else experienced these issues?

This same thing happens to us on our night shade. We talked with MCD and they blame the motor and say the only solution is to replace it.
Being the cheapskate I am, I tried other solutions. We reprogrammed the upper and lower stops and that seems to help. The other thing I have found is just grab the roller and turn it just a bit.
We have noticed this seems to be weather related, cold seems to make it worse, but there seems to be more going on than that.

Reprogram it and see what happens. I have to do ours periodically. I've also had to replace the motor once.

Had the same problem. I unhooked the power wires for a few minutes and reconnected them and never reprogrammed the limit control. No problems since. Good luck

Update. Reprogramming didn’t work so I ordered a new windshield shade motor (MCD 50:338 black pearl) and started replacing it today. Removed the driver side A pillar cover. As I was removing the wire tie that was around the programming wires and screwed to the A pillar I noticed the the screw had pierced the 12v power wire on the backside of the A pillar. The screw separated the two strand wire but didn’t break it, hence the periodic operation. That was a one in a million shot by the guy that screwed the wire tie down. But also a reminder that you need to know what is behind where you are shooting screws. I taped the wires and the shade now works perfectly. I have been struggling with this problem for a couple years all caused by careless workmanship. But glad it is fixed.
