Any ideas of where the mice are coming in? I continue to trap mice in 2 locations: 1) rear of water / utility compartment near the water tank valve. 2) bathroom cabinet under the sink (where the water lines enter the cabinet). My snap traps get them every time. I have looked under the coach with all basement lights on and can't find any visible entry points. I have spread poisen blocks around the outside permiter, steel wool in the basement floor cutouts for the water hose and power cord. It is currently 25 degrees outside and about 60 inside the coach. They like the heat.

Jerry you can block every hole in your coach they will find someplace over looked. I have a trap in most lower compartments plus near furnace, under kitchen draws, behind refridge vent and Gen compartment. They like wiring also. I have about 12 in place and will find 12 dead mice eventually. Lots of peanut butter.
Had a mouse get beheaded in furnace spinning fan and fryed on heating tubes once.

Jerry, I had one come in the front dash floor air vents while we were setting right there in the living room reading books. It just stopped and looked at us! I had left the dash air control on vent while parked and discovered two flapper doors open just above the generator where it came in. I now turn the dash air to off before shutting down the motor and it closes the two flapper doors shut. Of course the critter ran into the kitchen and it took us all week to get rid of him.

Check to see if you have seals around any slide out mechanisms that penetrate your stowage bays (primary insulation boundaries).

If you have your sewer house installed into your service bay, critters maybe climbing up the hose and into your service bay, then they have easy access to the interior of your coach.

My large (drivers side) slide has one slide mechanism that penetrates into the propane tank area, the other mechanism penetrated in the main stowage bay, critters where getting onto the propane slide mechanism via the exterior frame rails, traveling along the slide recess over to the other mechanism which was not sealed and into the main stowage area. Once they are in that area they can travel between bays via the frame rails) because they are not internally sealed between adjacent bays. Once in this area many of the isolated (under shower) through floor penetrations are not sealed, so critters can enter the living space rather easily via plumbing and plumbing drains.

Solved the problem by making rubber gaskets that sealed slide mechanisms that penetrate into the primary insulation boundaries. Another benefit of the seals is that it keeps outside air from entering into the primary insulation boundary, remember all of the outer walls of stowage bays form the primary insulation boundary. I can provide pictures if desired!

We used to get mice in our old Kountry Star all the time. None in the Dutch Star (so far, looking for wood to knock on), but we have dodged a couple of bullets we think. When we had some cabinet work done, the cabinet maker showed us a huge mouse hole that was definitely a flaw in the construction process. Under the sink, after taking out the partition that hides some pipes & plumbing there was a 1 1/2" hole to the outside. We couldn't see it inside as it was closed off from us, so we are so glad he found it. Our next trip to Nappanee, we showed it to our fix-it team and they fixed it and actually found one more in another spot and fixed it too. Be pouring over places you wouldn't think of being possible for entry.

Donna....mouse free and hoping to stay that way.

So far, I have isolated their locations and have been able to trap them with snap traps. Next step is to put more poisen blocks around the perimeter to the MH.

So far just distributing dryer sheets in all the storage bays and the coach interior have kept them away. Hope it stays that way.

Jerry from one of my other sites a poster found that peppermint will keep the little buggers out! She bought peppermint oil at a health store and dripped it on cotton balls and set them in butter tubs or on lids fronm the tubs. She stationed these around the trailer where she saw "presents" and no more mice all alst winter. Used it on a truck that sits in the garage for extended periods with same result. She also said the coach smelled great when opeining it back up!

Moth Balls and dryer sheets do work but need to be changed about every 2-3 weeks. I find that a box of D-Con in the bays and under the cabinets rids the coach in short order when it is in storage. On the other hand the Cat just sits on the lounge and watches.
