Mid Bath Sink Sheared Off at Drain

The bowl shaped sink in our mid bath broke off the drain. The only thing holding the sink bowl to the counter top is the drain pipe itself. The drain pipe sheared off at the threads. Not surprised now that I see how it is held in place. The metal is very thin at the threads and the bowl has no other support. So I imagine the bowl trying to rock during road travel caused the fatigue. I am still under warranty so Newmar providing a new drain (apparently it is not a common Home Depot item).

I don't see any other posts on the topic so maybe I am the only one.

In order to avoid a repeat occurrence, I made a plastic ring out of Delrin to install under the bowl in order to give it additional support.

Just throwing this post out there in case someone else is researching a similar experience.
