Mileage

Hey, back again! Thanx for the coolant leak advice. Find out tomorrow for sure.
SO........................ I'm averaging 9-10mpg (yay, me!!!!) So with a 2022 Ventana 3407 diesel pusher, I should get around 900 miles on a tank, nominally. Yet when I fill up, the distance-to-empty will say around 400 miles. Or when I get to 3/4 tank, it'll say around 300 miles and change, so to speak. Is this some default or preset from the factory where it doesn't take into account actual mpg??????

Are you doing the mileage math with a paper and pencil or using the information on the mileage screen?

Mine never says more than 430. If you notice it does not drop fast. Just a programming issue that seems to be inherent with the system. I never rely on it, I do the math when I fill up.

Mine always showed running out of fuel well before there was any concern. I stopped looking at it a year ago. I rely on RV trip wizard to program my fuel stops and rarely let it get below 3/8 tank.

mine never gets above 356 miles till empty. It's just a programming issues that I haven't seen a fix for. Just ignore it. I average 10 mpg, so I just set the #2 trip meter on each fill up and I know my safe mileage is 700 miles. I have a 90 gallon tank and plan to keep the last 20 gallons in reserve. That is also the point that the generator will not feed any longer from the tank. I've checked this out by experience!

I read somewhere (in this forum) that FL uses a fixed MPG for the calculation. Somewhere around 4.3, or something like that. So the DTE is pretty much useless.
