Mirror Swing Arms

How do you reposition the swing arms on the rearview mirrors, or can you? My owner's manual is silent on the issue which may or may not mean anything.

For the swing arms,you need to loosen a scew from the bottom. Then you need to put on the POWER to make it brake loose. Mine very misadjusted,too far out, and I was watching the dealer do the alignment per my liking.

I assume you are talking about the Ramco brand mirrors.
What siggyd said. That ball and socket joint can get real stiff due to corrosion. Breaking it loose may take some effort. Careful not to break the plastic mirror housing. You also don't really want that arm sticking perpendicular to the side - for side clearance reasons (think the next toll booth) and airflow reasons (think the next time you are doing 60mph into a 30mph headwind). Best is to sit inside at your driving position and have someone else move it. Keep the nut slightly snug while doing this so it retains the setting.

You'll need to tighten that nut back up pretty darn tight. I have yet to get a torque specification response from Ramco, seems they just don't answer that type of email.

Like has been said be careful how much pressure you put on arm attached to fiberglass wall mount arm or it may pop off the wall mounting.
You really need someone on ladder pushing on arm in opposite direction to hold arm steady.

Both our DSDP's have needed an allen wrench for the head, a socket for the arms at the bracket and a large phillips for the mounts to the body.

I keep TELLING my DW there is a good reason I carry all of those tools.
