More Wiper Problems - 2017 DS 4369

In March, we had the Freightliner wiper software update while having our PM at a Freightliner Oasis facility.

Yesterday, we drove in the rain for the first time since our PM service in March. Now we have a new problem. In intermittent mode, the driver’s side wiper hits the passenger side wiper at the end of it’s cycle and then parks about 12 inches above the other wiper. If I use the Hi/Low mode, the driver’s side wiper hits the other wiper at the end of each cycle. The DS wiper is obviously traveling too far at the end of its cycle. And, the wiper parking is still a problem.

I contacted Freightliner by email and they responded by saying it is a mechanical issue and thus a Newmar problem. I am waiting for a reply to my email to Newmar Customer Service.

Any thoughts on what might be causing the DS wiper to hit the other wiper at the end of the cycle?

Rex

I'm probably off base here, but when I was at the factory watching the chassis roll into the production shop, they didn't have wipers on them.

FWIW, we had gremlins in our wipers too. Turned out the incorrect revision wiper motor was installed. Newmar replaced and the wipers operate correctly now, except that random pop coming out of the passenger side wiper. Of course that's another issue to run down.

Thanks for the post. I am still waiting for Newmar to reply to my request for service assistance. It will be interesting to hear what they say.
