Mountain Aire Batteries
My son is waiting for his new Mountain Aire. It has eight house batteries, but what kind are they using now and what is the amp rating of them??

Could be AGM's, but a call to Newmar would get the true answer!

Hi Crasher,
For the last few years Newmar has been using Discover AGM batteries. Newmar would be your source for confirmation of the battery capacity and Brand.

My son called a service rep at the plant and was told they were a 6 volt AGM battery with a 98 amp rating. No brand name. Every six volt battery I have seen is from 205 to 300 amps. Something doesn't make sense. The new Allegro Bus comes with six 300 amp Lifeline batteries, but I assumed that Newmar would have at least the equivalent.

That number may be the 75 amp reserve capacity.
There is a formular to convert it to AH. Somewhere around 200 AH.

Thanks "007". My son got hold of a service rep that told him the total amperage of the eight battery bank was 828 amps. From that I came up with 207 amps per battery. I will pass your info on to him.
