My coach was hit with a meteor

I bought my "new" 2019 DSDP 4018 in April 2020. I am on a winter trip away from the PNW for 2 months currently in Indio, CA. I had my coach washed today and the nice gentleman went up on the roof to wash. He came back with pictures of two holes one large and the other small in the fiberglass on the rare of the coach on the passenger side. There are no scratches next to the holes and I know I did not hit anything up there. The picture is looking down at the roof along the side. Has anyone seen something like this? I am stunned with this. Any ideas?

That looks like an air pocket in the fiberglass that has opened up.

Nothing a little piece of eternabond tape won't fix.

Road debris or something that flew out of the bed of an open truck bed. You'd be surprised how far that stuff can fly and where it can land.

I think Winger2 is probably correct. We have a 2020 DS and when I arrived in Nappanee for some warranty work in Sep I noticed something very similar. It was located on the passenger side of rear cap where the Girard awning fits in. I thought I might of caught a tree branch or something but wasn’t a scratch anywhere around.

Newmar looked at it and said it was an air pocket and they would take care of it. Once they started the repair they found a couple more areas that needed attention, ended up they worked the whole back upper corner of the cap.

I would reach out to Newmar and could be covered under warranty, structural. Good luck.

Agreed looking at the photo close.
Note the edges of the hole look to just be gelcoat (no fiberglass thickness).
Then with a temperature change the gelcoat pops off.
Body shop repair. Eternabond would be a good temporary fix but not as cosmetic as a body plastic fill and repaint that a good DIY'r or body shop would do.

That's just an area that wasn't finished properly. The gelcoat was the only thing covering the hole. I'm guessing with a little pressure, that whole edge would collapse. I think for integrity reasons, I would repair that with fiberglass.

Seen that happen very often with boats. Fill it. Fair it. Paint it. Sloppy workmanship making the part.
