My King Aire Has Become a Nightmare
Driving down the freeway pulling the stacker trailer and the receiver hitch breaks. Broke right at the welds and we were dragging our trailer down the freeway. Unfortunately we just had it in Nappanee for repairs and although they "fixed" the camera system our cameras are non-operational once again so we didn't have them to see the sparks flying to know there was an issue. Thankfully someone was kind enough to pull up beside us to let us know. Since we left the factory it has been one problem after another. Has anyone had their hitch break?

That's a 15K# hitch. How much does your stacker weigh loaded?

We have weighed it fully loaded at just under 14000lbs.

Is that including the tongue or just at the axles?

If its a weld that broke it sounds like a hitch failure. I dont think newmar builds the hitch. Have you contacted the hitch manufacture?

IMO Kinda looks like a stress crack emanating from the hole in the corner of the first and second picture that has been there for a while. See the rust in crack between the hole and where the metal tore away.
Did you buy the coach new? Ever been in an accident?

That is a serious hitch failure. You are lucky things didnt get ugly. Looks like a fatique failure or possibly too much tongue weight?

Bought the coach new. No accidents. Been pulling the same trailer for the past year - about 10,000 miles with no issues.

I'd be on the phone to Newmar and whoever the hitch manufacturer is attempting to get a replacement covered by them.
It also appears there seems to be a vertical weld missing near the outer side of the where that semi-circular rust spot is on the side that tore. JMHO
