Mysterious light switch

I have a light switch on the wall next to my shower in my 2005 Dutch Star 4010. I have no idea what it does, nothing comes on or goes off.

Does anyone have any idea why I would have a switch there? It's not a Newmar installed RV switch, it's a flat rocker switch that you would see in a home.

Thanks

Mitch

A late welcome to the Newmar forum & irv2.
Here is a Brochure and a Owners Guide for your coach.
They both have info for tank sizes, weights, general operation of your coach.
Here is some info as to how to get your coach ready to travel.
The switch maybe for a security light outside like the one you have in your tank display area.
The switch maybe for only one light outside in rear area over your water compartment.
I have three one in display area for two lights passenger side one in LR slide area and one in bedroom for over my water compartment area.
You can find more info in QT's links 1 & 2 and new # 3.
Enjoy the forum and enjoy your Newmar.

Hadn't thought of that, maybe an master override for the outside security lights. I can certainly check that out this week.

I even considered that I may be switching lights of in someone else's RV, have to maintain a sense of humor with mystery switches.

Thanks,

Mitch

Mine has a switch there that turns on heaters for the holding tanks.
I'm sure that's what yours is .

Now that does make sense. Thanks so much. Nothing else would make sense.

I agree with Hicks. Had an 05 4020 DSDP with a 120v switch next to the shower, it was for the tank heating pads. Mine had a tell-tale light with it to show it was on though.

I finally addressed this mysterious switch issue by purchasing a switch that lights up when power is provided. To my dismay, when I removed the existing switch there's no wires hooked up to it.

Maybe it's wireless!!!!

Sounds like you've got a factory " OOOps " , worker cut a hole for an optional item's control switch, that he shouldn't have, and rather than replace the panel, just installed the switch , to fill the hole.

I've never heard of this happening before.

My coach has the, optional " Tank Heater " switch in the described location.
