Need help, coach panel reads :initializing
I am stuck believe it or not at a freightliner dealer. They had put the jacks down and then back up, but the air bags will not air up. Panel for jacks reads "initializing". Have tried putting the jacks back down and up, but no change. They have called their corp. With no suggestions.
I have active air and i have called hwh, but they said it could be days before they call me back.
Any suggestions?

Jerry:
If they set the jacks using the manual mode, the computer gets confused and won't always air back up. Try setting the jacks through the automatic level mode, let it set a few minutes, then retract through the travel mode. That procedure has worked for me.
Good luck.

Dutch Star Don posted this problem and the solution a few months ago.
I have manually dumped the air and leveled. When I tied to air back up, the coach would not air up. I followed Don's recommendation to go into auto level mode, let the coach level, then retract to travel mode. I did that and she aired up as she should. I can't find Don's thread right now. Hey Don. Can you add a link to your solution?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks. DSD's info is usually correct. Ironically, I tried the manual dump several days ago for the first time and had a noticeable delay in the air-up. Did the procedure u described and it does work.

Still at Freightliner with no solution. Wish Dutch Star Don would pipe in. Tech has talked with HWH once and they said to check fuse. Fuse ok. Talked with Newmar and their suggestion was to remove panel unplug and replug. Did not work. Tech is calling back HWH.

Sorry that didn't work for you Jerry.
It was worth a shot.
Good luck and let us know what the resolution is.

Sorry.....Dutch Star Don isn't that sharp on this stuff, when it gets into the electronics of these things. I looked into this because I park my coach on the side of the house. When I had my 2014, I would back it in, manually dump and leave it that way until the next trip. It would always air back up, once air pressure built up. When I manually dumped my 2019, it wouldn't air up....oh no….thought something had broken.
I eventually discovered that manual dumping the 2019, didn't trigger the system to air back up when we started the coach for the next trip. Now I trick it by Auto Leveling and then once the air is dumped, cancel the Auto leveling.
I can't help too much here. I would say to Auto Level as suggested, then start the engine, place it in HIGH IDLE and then Auto retract. It sounds like the system is confused and needs to get back to a starting point. Doing the HIGH IDLE has helped on mine.
It was actually a compilation of several posters making suggestions that got me to a procedure for mine.

Following since my Active Air install was finished today. I don't have jacks though, just the air suspension to level with.

When my coach acts up I have had good luck with shutting 12 volt power off for a couple minutes. Then retry!! It's worked a bunch of times on all kinds of things on my dutchstar.
