Need Plumbing Experts to Weigh In
I am replacing the sink faucet in the mid bath of our 2017 Dutch Star 4369. The new faucet compression fitting is one size smaller than the existing Newmar brass adapter fitting. I am trying to determine what replacement brass fitting to get that will match the new faucet.
After contacting a plumbing supply, a hardware store and Newmar I have yet to determine the correct replacement fitting.
I am trying to obtain this fitting by phone or online order so I don't have to enter a crowded hardware store or plumbing supply. I am doing my best to social distance.
Questions:
1. Is the PEX fitting in the last photo a standard plumbing fitting or is it RV specific? It appears to be ½ inch pipe fitting but the inner lip is beveled. See first photo for top view.
2. I think the existing faucet compression fitting is 9/16 inch and my new faucet is 3/8 inch compression fitting. The inside lip of this fitting is flat. See second photo for top view.
Thanks for you assistance.
Rex

1/2 NPT to 3/8 compression if you are convinced it's 3/8 on the new faucet.

½ inch pipe thread does not have the beveled edge. Does that matter?

Your new faucet hose is assuming a shutoff valve where you have the PEX. A valve with the proper ends should be easier to find.

When the pipe is reamed before threading it does.

Thanks for the suggestion to add a valve. That might work.

The plumbing valve sounded like a great idea so I purchased two ½ inch by 3/8 inch compression shut-off valves at Home Depot.
Today I disconnected the old faucet and found the shut-off valve would not fit. The larger end appears to be ½ inch with pipe thread. The shut-off valve is the same diameter but smaller thread. See photos.
I am VERY FRUSTRATED.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Don't get discouraged. Take it back and get the right one. There's compression, NP and NPT. Your brass bit looks like NPT.

Here is my dilemma: I am in San Diego. I cannot remove the existing fitting without shutting down the water to the entire coach. And I don't want to go into Home Depot or a hardware store during the COVID crisis. Home Depots are like Grand Central Station and I am trying my best to social distance. I ordered the two shut-off valves at Home Depot and used curbside pickup. That worked great and I didn't have to risk my life going into the store.
I agree the large end looks like normal pipe thread. The part that has me stymied is the beveled end. It appears the be a large compression fitting with ½ in pipe thread. I cannot find that anywhere.
I have been waiting on a reply from Newmar since Tuesday.

I think someone already explained why it's beveled. What about the bevel concerns you?

Answer: A standard pipe fitting is not beveled. I am concerned that without the bevel it will not form a seal against the black, winged female compression fitting on our Newmar. See photo of black fitting below.

Answer: Normal pipe fittings are not beveled on the male end. I am concerned that a non-beveled fitting will not form a good seal against the black, winged female fitting on our Newmar. See photo.
The black fitting appears to be a compression fitting with pipe thread.

Yes, it looks like a large compression fitting.
