Need some info please
Good afternoon all.
Hope everyone had a healthy and Happy Thanks giving?
We picked up our 2022 Ventana "ALL ELECTRIC" Newmar a few weeks back and could use some inputs from you all.
I'm a little confused on how often my Magnum ME-RC controller turns on the AGS system to keep the house batteries charged up? I presently only have the large Whirlpool refrigerator running ( around 9 amps) and nothing else, but it seems to run more then I expected?
ALSO, I don't fully understand how long this system should "Stay ON' when recharging the batteries?
Any and ALL help is greatly appreciated.

AGS
Your AGS settings on the Magnum Remote must be "enabled" and the run time for the generator is set based on the number of house batteries you have, the the type (AGM, Flooded Cell, Lithium, etc.), brand, and their capacity.
I found that you can call Newmar Customer Service and ask them to connect you to the folks at Precision Circuits or Magnum and they can walk you through the process to make sure all the settings are correct. Before you call, you will need to know the quantity, brand, type of battery, and capacity of your house batteries. If you are not sure what all the numbers are, take a picture of the label on one of your house batteries and the folks on the phone can explain it to you.

House batteries
I forget to include in my last post that your refrigerator is not the only thing running off your house batteries. All the interior lighting is 12 volt and runs off the house batteries, as do most of the other electrical appliances (running off the invertor). On our coach, we can run everything using the house batteries except the Oasis, Air Conditioners, Dishwasher, induction stove top, washer, & dryer.

The Oasis can be run with the burner on. I don’t think the inverter will run the electrical elements. Even if it did, it would deplete your batteries quickly.
I recently returned from dry camping in a casino parking lot for five days. Temperatures never got above freezing and, nighttime temperatures went down to the teens. I had the AGS enabled and, settings are correct according to Magnum. The furnace was using burner only and, running almost constantly. I would make coffee on the inverter in the morning as well as a couple of minutes for the microwave. My batteries are almost four years old and, as far as I know all of them are in good condition. In this condition the generator would auto start about once a day and run for about three hours before shutting down.

The AGS as was mentioned above needs to be enabled and at the appropriate voltage level. The most common school of thought is a 12 volt system is at 50% discharge at 12.1-12.2 VDC. I have mine set to start at 12.2 and run time set for 2 hours. This does cause it to start if in the morning while Boondocking and above the 12.2 setting we start the coffee pot. The voltage will sag below the 12.2 starting point and it starts. We don’t BD too much.
Your battery type is probably set to AGM 2 if there are factory installed AGM batteries. I found Magnum helpful when I spoke with them on the phone. There are also a whole series of You Tube videos that they put out on the display, it’s setting and functions.
I came to the 2 hour run time number by watching the system’s display after it started up. The charger runs 3 different levels, bulk, absorb and float. You definitely want to get into float.
Our residential frig uses only 2-3 amps running. If yours is residential also you can actually check by looking at the Magnum display and then going and turning the cooling off on the frig and looking at it again.
There are quite a few other things that are always running in the background. Each of you TV’s has a power brick, each drawing some power in standby. If you have a subwoofer it’s running to. We added a WiFi Ranger before they were standard and that’s always running also.
If your not turning off the inverter it’s drawing power too.
