Needed recommendation

End of March have appointment at Newmar for a week.

I would like to change out 74 inch hide-a-bed couch and the two Captains chairs. Want two wall recliners with console between to replace couch.

Changing out due to peeling of fabric and looks very tacky.

Need a recommendation on manufacture, fabric and ware toughness, also want to replace Captains chairs with something that fits a 6'6" and comfortable and use within reason my six or so functions I already have wiring for.

Finally, looking for value and allot better wear than my Flexsteel showed. Not a Flexsteel fan anymore, I believe many RV'ERS on this forum share my opinion.

Respectfully,

Sidewinder4

Hi Sidewinder4,
Your choices are what Newmar currently buys for the entire line (all coach Brands). If Newmar doesn't already buy it, they will not consider it.

Did some research while at the Tampa RV super show for the same reasons..... I believe you should only consider using the original “UltraLeather” fabric. Talked at length with a rep from Glastop and the original “291” series will last almost forever, even in marine environments.

It is not a flexsteel issue, it was Newmar that specified the fabric to be used. They went cheap and we all get to suffer the consequences.

As an aside, when we ordered our coach, we specified that the piping been the same color as the rest of the seat, when it came in, they had contracting piping. Newmar tried to say Flexsteel required that. After much going around with Newmar, I had them get Flex Steel in the phone for a conference call. Flexsteel said that they would make it anyway I ( Newmar) wanted, infact, they said Piping was not needed, so they made new covers for the furniture without piping. Now, had I known about the cheap material back then, I would have paid for an upgrade.
