New 2023 DS 4369 Freightliner

I’m happy to announce that we are the new owners of a 2023 DutchStar 4369 on a Freightliner chassis. For you that know me from way back you will remember that I was a diehard Spartan guy and in 2017-2018 in particular I still believe that Spartan had several advantages over Freightliner with no additional cost for either chassis.
Fast forward to I believe 2021 to 2022 the Spartan was an option at several thousand dollars but came with 2 more years of chassis warranty.
Now in 2023 the Spartan is a $8,470 over the Freightliner. What makes this gap even more substantial is the 2023 Freightliner now comes with the 5 Year chassis warranty at no cost.
Thank you to Tom Lindstrom RV for taking care of us on all 3 Newmar’s
Tom and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and offer very competitive pricing.
Hope to see you on the road soon!

Congrats on your beautiful coach. I also couldn't see the benefit of the Spartan over the FL on the newer Dutch Stars. The only thing I found superior on the Spartan is the ease of servicing the air dryer. Some like the hydraulic fan over the FL system. Can anyone else suggest anything that makes a Spartan over 8K more expensive on the DS-not talking about the bigger motor chassis like on the London Aire-I have no experience with those. Often times we are comparing apples to oranges on this forum when it comes to chassis choice. Often times you have no choice on chassis selection. Only warranty difference I noticed was on the actual frame rails when we bought ours. Again, I have never heard of a frame rail or cross member breaking. Many have mentioned frame thickness as well. On the DS, there is only 50 lbs difference in the weight of the two chassis, thus I am not buying that the Spartan is thicker or stiffer either. This is not to bash Spartan, but to give new buyers an informed opinion if spending the extra money for a Spartan is worth it or not.

Congrats on the purchase and best of luck!!!
Thinking that the hydraulic fan seemed to make better sense vs mechanically driven, I asked a Spartan Tech at their 2018 Hershey Show booth why the more expensive K3 chassis has a mechanically driven fan and not an hydraulic driven unit? He couldn't answer the question...

Thank you! I think the cost is directly related to sales volume. Spartan is a much smaller company

Do you feel that there is any difference in the way the FL drives vs the Spartin that you owned?

have not driven it enough to have a clear opinion. I will say that it was very smooth.

That is a beautiful coach, congratulations. I too, could not see the advantage of a Spartan chassis over Freightliner. With all of the FL, FCCC shops across the country, the advantage seems to go to FL.
Save travels,
