Contact Michelle Howard at Newmar (mhoward@newmarcorp.com) or, better yet, schedule a visit with her in Nappanee. Basically, you can ask for just about anything as a special, but engineering will need to approve major changes. Most anything you can find in one of the Newmar model lines is a potential "special," along with some routine things like adding electrical outlets, USB/12VDC ports, etc.

You will need to have decided which Newmar model you are wanting to modify. Then, you can ask Michelle about adding specials. She is very knowledgeable about what is likely to be approved by the engineering folks.

Mapnerd and Jim are right - "specials" are beyond "options" that are just choices on a list for that particular model and floor plan. Specials fall into two categories: a selection from another Newmar make and model that's not an option on yours, such as the upholstery, the corian countertop, or a wallcovering; and something completely custom, such as a change to the cabinet layout, location of plugs, addition of a wire conduit from the roof, etc.

For the paint you can select any color from any Newmar make and model, and in any order, but you can only get the pattern for the make and model you're buying. So we got a Ventana LE with some paint colors from the Dutchstar line.

There are some things that Newmar just won't do as they want to keep distinctions between the various makes and models. For example, we asked for a dishwasher in our Ventana LE, but they wouldn't do it. So we had them leave the cabinet under the stovetop empty (it's normally drawers), and we had a dishwasher installed in that space aftermarket by our local shop.

Outlets would certainly be nice in a couple of spots! Also a single basin sink or the oversized farmhouse sink vs the dual basin sink. Those would be at the top of me list to start.

Here are a list of my specials:
Deeper overhead cabinets over the kitchen dinette.
Solid Doors for bedroom bypass doors
Single Sink in Kitchen - Replace double bowl with single (non) stainless steel sink
GE Advantium Microwave swap
Add 2-3 adjustable shelves in the bedroom wardrobe cabinets and leave the clothes rod
Make the Euro Booth table 2”-3” wider
Vent micro thru exterior wall.
Adjustable shelves in the bathroom medicine cabinet.
Add a conduit from roof to cabinet above driver’s seat.
Add 1x Cat6 from cabinet back to bedroom.
Add 12v & dual USB to left of steering wheel.
Add 110, 12v/USB outlet to cabinet above driver seat
dual USB next to passenger seat
Install 12v & Dual USB outlet center of dash nearest the windshield for dash cam
110v in 3rd compartment on door side
Add 110v outlet in the cord reel area
Add 110v outlet to peg board basement storage area
Add 110v outlets in storage area under king bed
Add 110/USB next to televator on kitchen side of couch
Add 110/USB Two in rear wall where bathroom sink is located, one in each corner
Add a 12v/USB outlet in master wardrobe for Tire pressure repeater
Add 110/USB outlet vertically to the right of KIB panel in bedroom on door side
I want to have the exterior TV to operate from rear a/v compartment. It will allow me to operate the bedroom TV and exterior TV separate from the salon TV's, but will also allow me to run the 3 interior off of one receiver if wanted and outside on its own. But I plan on running salon TV's off one and the bedroom/exterior off the other

Maybe someone with greater knowledge & experience can expound on the "green bar"!
Hey Jabber,

I agree with you. One of our Newmar Corp Production Order Forms that we signed had “green bar” printed on it, however, it was not the final. In my posted response to you early on, it took several times (signatures) because the paint choice we made had difficulty getting on the sheet. It was just a mis-communication issue. Anyways, “green bar” never appeared on any required sign-off sheets after that, so I think that you are spot on!

Enjoy your new coach!

We thought about the farmhouse sink too, but when we spoke with Michelle while at the Newmar factory, she told us that's actually their #1 special - for removal! Apparently it's just too darn big and lots of folks quickly fall out of love with it. It does look nice though.

We ended up going with a the single bowl sink from the New Aire which is slightly smaller, but there's no divider in the way so you end up with more usable sink. Outlets are definitely a no-brainer.

Does anyone have any experience with adding things post production? I am thinking we stick with the coach on lot but would like to add some electrical outlets. Is that possible?

Tom,
Where did you place the 12 Volt/USB by the windshield. We ordered a 2020 4081 and I would like to do the same thing for our dash cam. Do you know where Newmar will install it? Appreciate any answers you can provide!

Bruce

Bruce,
They will put them in the middle front of the dash up by the windshield
I have a picture I will post in the morning showing where they will be.

I do not have the final drawing as to where they go exactly but when at the factory last month Natalie Miller showed us about where they will go.
Somewhere between the red arrows on my picture.
