New DSDP with questions....

Hi,
Just picked up our new DSDP 4018 at Dealership last week. Haven't really had chance to take her out other than the drive home and to the hitch place to install the AF 1.

Few things....

1. Outside door lock/cargo locks using keypad worked well at dealership, but after couple times, no longer locks unless using key fob. Don't know where sensors or wiring is (which shouldn't be dirty I would think) DH looked for fuses in compartment under drivers, but only saw 1 possible fuse not 2....and did not know which ones.

2. Night (not day) shade over dining table stuck in down position.

3. Tag axle...how does this work? DH leaves it in auto position, but watching him backing up...the tag tires do not go up and rolls like the others. Have noticed slight rubbing markings on the outer rim of tires. Dealership says they do rise a little bit...but I have not seen this at all.

I would also like to say that Tom Lindstrom is best dealership to deal with for those in the market for a Newmar.

Thanks,

MCD shades

Are you using the remote while it's velcroed into it's niche? If so, the dining table shade is the furthest from the remote and so the least likely to get the signal if the battery in the remote is weak. First try pulling the remote off the wall and using it very near the shade. If that works, then change the battery in the remote.
Are you using the "all shade" button? If so, see if it will work using the button for that specific shade. If so, you can use that button until you can get it programmed to work also on the group button.
If that doesn't work, the shade might have lost its programming which can happen if the coach has an episode of low voltage. It's easy to reprogram a shade. The people at MCD are very helpful. You can call them and they'll help you with trouble shooting, reprogramming, etc. The website which has contact info is mcdinnovations.com

The tag axel does not lift. When the switch is in automatic position, the air is dumped from the tag air bags, so only the weight of the axel is on the tires while the transmission is in reverse. This allows the tag tires to slide sideways without significant wear and reduces the turning radius. On the Freightliner chassis the "Manual" side is a "Press on - off" momentary switch. The first press will cause the tag to dump every time the speed goes below 8 mph, in forward or reverse. The second push will turn off the dump function. The Spartan chassis Manual operation may be different.

When you put the coach into reverse, make sure you see the message "Tag Dumped" in the display. The switch should be in the auto (forward) position.

I printed out the instructions on resetting the remote off the MCD website...DH got the shade to go up....but now it don't go down (LOL)...

Don't believe it's the batteries as we have had tried the remote while sitting at the booth, even trying to tweak the wires above...guess we'll have to call them...thx.

Okay, tried removing the 2 fuses for the keypad door/cargo door lock , waited minute to allow computer reset as suggested....still a no go. Keypad locks nothing.

Funny how things work at the dealership when picking up your coach, and when you get it home, it suddenly goes poof!

Any other suggestions?

P.s. How can I change my signature now that my coach is no longer on the assembly line.
