Thanks for that heads-up on Shockwarehouse Guys. Looks like Ultra is only about $4/shock higher, and certainly worth that to deal with a reliable company.

I have an electric 1/2" impact tool, both a 1/2" breakover handle and ratchet, plus all the 1/2" standard and metric sockets. Box end and open end wrenches.
Will I need any other special wrenches to install the front Konis, and what problems might I have?

Didn't have any trouble at all installing both the front Koni adjustables and later the FDSs on my previous Itasca Merdian, but this IFS looks a little more complicated.

It's not complicated at all.

Jack stands or ramps.

The upper end looks a little tight to get a wrench to. Lower end looks like duck soup. Some times the main problem with me is just not having enough arm strength to break the nut loose, and I don't think the impact tool will work on the top one. We'll see, may have to get some help.
Thanks

I used a short 1/2" impact wobble extension on the top nut when I installed new Koni EVO shocks.

Allen.....look at the new shocks when they arrive. There is an allen wrench hole in the top of the threaded shaft of the top mount. That allen wrench hole is there to keep the shaft from turning when loosening or tightening the upper nut. You may have to install an allen wrench to hold the shaft while loosening the nut. Just ;et the allen wrench spin until it makes contact with the frame and then use a wrench to loosen the nut.

Okay Don. I was wondering if the top section wouldn't turn while taking off that upper nut, especially when those things can be very stubborn sometimes after many many miles. Glad Koni thought about that.

Did you use an air impact tool? Looks like I won't have room at the top nut for my electric impact tool. It's really large and heavy compared to the air tools, and I don't have an air compressor. Trying to use the 1/2" breakover handle with a shallow 15/16" socket and having trouble getting enough leverage. Soaking the nuts with Blaster right now.

Got an answer from Koni yesterday afternoon after I sent a second one earlier in the day. They indicated I should have received their first answer last Thursday. No idea what happened to this first one.
Anyway, they verified that for my 2015 Newmar Dutch Star with 14,600 # ZF IFS Freightliner chassis front axle I indeed do need the EVO 99b 3262.

The front shock on the Dutch Star (Freightliner) has been the same shock since at least 2014.
