2 - Seller kept this MH in an upscale resort and stored it indoors when not in use.
The generator only has 176 hours and the engine has 24k miles on it. Both have been maintained annually and appear in great shape. Should I be concerned with the low hours?
3 - are there any Newmar or Essex known problems I should look for?
4 - the super long driver’s side slide out concerns me because of its sheer size. It operates fine, but I’m wondering if any members have had issues with it.
The seller is a close friend and everything he owns is kept in immaculate condition. I’m just being cautious. I’ve owned 2 previous MH’s but never a Newmar.
Thanks in advance for any guidance
Nav: “The Nav-N-Go”ģ Navigation System Displayed through Dash Touch Screen Monitor“ is probably obsolete anyway and even when new was probably not as user friendly as an after-market Garmin unit. If its a 2-din size dash unit, you could invest in a new in dash unit to keep a clean appearance and take advantage of that space in the dash.
Low Hours: Im sure its a great coach and the low chassis milage is a plus. Low hours on the gen can create the right conditions for corrosion which is one of the reasons its recommended to run them for an hour/month. If it operates properly you're probably in good shape. Run it for a few hours under load to see how it holds up. The best thing about this is that you’ll have a good maintenance history and records.
Known issues: Ive been studying Newmar coaches for quite some time and have seen nothing Essex specific or company-wide ro steer me away. Almost all coaches have some problems, and some Dutch Stars during this era were delivered with under-sized front axles, but I haven't heard of any Newmar construction concerns.
Super slides - these concern me as well, but Newmar stands behind their products and their engineering is sound (industry-leading in this case) and they are very helpful when you do have problems. My experience has been positive. This thread might be helpful: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/new...es-235548.html
